Mimosa globally Introduces their new Mimosa C5x Modular Radio

SANTA CLARA, CA — Mimosa Networks today announced the Mimosa C5x, the industry’s most versatile, integrated 5 GHz radio with four modular, twist-on antenna options. With best-in-class Front-to-Back (FTB) and Front-to-Side (FTS) ratios for superior noise immunity, and extended frequency operation from 4.9-6.4 GHz, the ultra-rugged C5x is disrupting the industry and sets new price/performance benchmarks for integrated wireless connectivity.

Cost Effective Solution Scales with your Network

The modular design of the C5x is a perfect fit for network operators, offering the ease and simplicity of an integrated radio coupled with antenna gain flexibility for streamlined installation and reduced inventory costs. The C5x is optimized for short- to mid-range links with a native 8 dBi gain that can be increased to 12, 16, 20 or 25 dBi using a set of modular twist-on antennas. With a disruptive price point (MSRP US$59), the C5x is designed for cost-effective point-to-multipoint (PTMP) deployments delivering up to 100BaseT of IP throughput out-of-the-box, and up to 500 Mbps when paired with a “C5x-PTMP” feature key upgrade (sold separately). A separate point-to-point (PTP) “C5x-PTP” feature key will upgrade the C5x to deliver up to 700 Mbps throughput for a PTP link.

Incredible RF Performance

Fabricated in rugged die-cast metal to excel in the harshest environments, the custom-engineered N5-X Cassegrain or horn antennas are optimized for gain across a broad spectrum range. Best-in-class noise isolation provides immunity from interference with breakthrough FTB and FTS performance, delivering 10bB improvement in the Signal-to-Interference-Plus-Noise Ratio (SINR). This feature translates into a 10X performance increase against competitive integrated radios.

Extended Frequency Operation

Based on Mimosa’s field-proven C5c software, the Mimosa C5x, like all Mimosa products, is engineered with extended frequency support and takes advantage of both 4.9 GHz public safety applications in the United States and unlicensed frequencies up to 6.4 GHz worldwide (where allowed by local regulations). In addition, the accompanying N5-X modular antennas are specifically optimized for C5x extended frequency support.

Packs a Powerful Punch in a Small Form Factor

At just 17.5 centimeters in height and weighing only 370 grams, the C5x delivers with an incredibly sleek form factor, perfect for visually sensitive installations. And with a typical energy consumption of sub-10w, the C5x is ideal for solar-powered, battery back-up installations, where power and reliability are at a premium.

Patton Earns 2017 Product of the Year for PoE Extender

Patton Earns 2017 Product of the Year for PoE Extender

Patton Electronics—US manufacturer of UC, cloud, and IoT enabling solutions for carrier, enterprise and industrial networks—announced today the company’s CopperLink 1101 Power-over-Ethernet Extenderhas claimed the 2017 Product of the Year Award from Communications Solutions magazine.

We are honored to accept this award,” said Johnnie Grant III, Product Line Manager, Patton. “The distance limitations of Ethernet and the challenges of delivering electrical power often make it too expensive or technically impossible for system designers to position endpoint devices where they are needed. Patton technology changes all that.”

Patton’s new Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Extender changes the game for IP-network engineers who design solutions involving IP cameras, IP phones, IP-enabled smart-LED lighting, digital signage, traffic devices, industrial sensors, monitoring devices, flow meters, wireless access points (WAPs), intercoms, sensors, card readers, HVAC controls, PLCs, and a host of other Ethernet endpoint devices.

Available in water-proof IP67-compliant, outdoor enclosures, the CopperLink 1101 PoE Extender extends extend 10/100 Ethernet plus up to 15 Watts of 802.3af (or legacy) PoE up to 3,300 feet (915 meters) to IP-enabled devices using a single pair of common copper telephone wires or coaxial cable.

“Network cabling is often embedded in concrete, inside walls, or buried under asphalt,” Mr. Grant explains. “Replacing all that can cost a fortune! Our solution conserves capital by re-using legacy cabling versus installing new Cat5… or fiber, which can’t deliver power.”

Standard PoE specifies 4-wire cabling, yet the CL1101 operates over 2 wires. By leveraging low-voltage copper infrastructure to deliver power the CL1101 eliminates the expense of a high-voltage construction project while enabling All-IP migration and the Internet of Things (IoT).

“Congratulations to Patton for their success,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “The CopperLink 1101 product line is truly among the most innovative solutions brought market to this year. Patton’s PoE extender series facilitates business-transforming voice, data and video communications. I look forward to continued excellence from Patton in 2018 and beyond.”

Patton Enterprise Survivability in the Age of All-IP Telephony

Patton Enterprise Survivability in the Age of All-IP Telephony

Most businesses will NOT switch to IP telephony without  guaranteed survivability. Internet telephony service providers (ITSPs) must deliver on-premise survivability options. So how can you ensure the enterprise phone system is going to work—even when the Internet goes down?

The new age of All-IP networking has arrived. Now that session initiation protocol (SIP)-based telephony is well established, enabling broad adoption of unified communications (UC), the traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) seems a bit clunky and old-fashioned. Yet that old PSTN was—and still is—highly reliable. As carrier-providers—and their subscribers—plunge head-first in to the sea of IP Telephony, the good old PSTN remains good solid ground—a trustworthy plan B—for those inevitable times when your subscriber’s
Internet connection fails… for whatever reason.

Another way (in addition to PSTN backup) to solve the uptime problem with Internet-based phone systems is for the subscriber maintain dual access links
with separate Internet service providers (ISPs)—ideally over different physical cabling plants with varied networking providers (fiber-optic Ethernet, coaxial
cable-modem, copper DSL). This multi-provider approach is highly resilient. In addition to providing a backup plan for the broken WAN access link, it covers
potential hardware or software failures in the service-provider cloud. As another layer of redundancy for added resilience, a second Internet Telephony
Service Provider (ITSP) may be added to the mix.

The Crux of the Problem
Whether your subscriber is operating a business, hotel, school, church or hospital, the problem is the same. How are you going to keep your customer’s phone system working—no matter what?

Cloud PBX
In this age where the PBX is often in the cloud, the unfortunate reality is that a loss of connection to the cloud service, for any reason, breaks station-tostation calls within the enterprise, kills 911 emergency services and wipes out inbound and outbound call capability.

SIP Trunks
In SIP trunking implementations, where the IP-PBX resides on-premise, a broken Internet access link kills inbound and outbound calling. However the PBX can still support station-to-station calls between SIP terminals within the local area network).

Patton offers a flexible solution for enterprise-telephony survivability and business continuity that employs an intelligent enterprise session border controller (eSBC)—equipped with the necessary features and functions—installed on the subscriber premise. To learn about the details, get the white paper

Patton’s Highly-Survivable eSBCs Now Support 200 Simultaneous SIP Sessions

Now, with SmartNode 5500 eSBC, organizations with up to 2000 employees can comfortably migrate to All-IP with redundant trunks, automated local registration, and system survivability.

Patton Electronics—US manufacturer of UC, cloud, and IoT enabling solutions for carrier, enterprise and industrial networks—announces the new 200-callSmartNode 5500 enterprise session border controller (eSBC).

With the SN5500, Patton has more than tripled the SIP-to-SIP calling capacity of the popular SN5300 eSBC.

The new eSBC aligns squarely with the VoIP calling requirements of organizations that employ over 600 and up to 2,000 people and require secure and reliable connectivity to a SIP-trunk or hosted-PBX service.

The SN5500 is equipped with WAN-access ports that enable redundant wired or wireless network connections that ensure business continuity by providing IP-link failover for system survivability.

With a built-in local SIP registrar, the SmartNode self-learns the session-control data for such SIP endpoint devices as SIP phones, softphones or unified communications (UC) clients. This intelligent eSBC feature eliminates the need for any re-configuration of the end-point, service, or network settings that would otherwise be required to maintain call control in a failover scenario.

In the event of a failure in the provider network or service chain—for any reason—the SmartNode automatically delivers traffic over an alternate path. Whenever the access network, SIP trunk, or hosted service is down, this failover mechanism sustains E-911 service and station-to-station call capability, as well as inbound and outbound calls.
The eSBC can provide CODEC transcoding for up to 16 concurrent calls, offering bandwidth management and WAN optimization for remote and branch-office calls.

TLS/SRTP encryption for voice and signaling data, as well as firewall services, means the SmartNode provides converged voice-and-data security services at the network edge. These services protect the enterprise LAN as well as the service-provider network from such security threats as snooping, hacking, toll fraud, and denial-of-service attacks.

The SN5500 delivers superior performance for reliable fax service while supporting all the essential VoIP and fax protocols, including SIPv2, SIPv2 over TLS, T.38, G.722 HD voice, RTP security with SRTP, fax and modem bypass, and DTMF relay.

Axtel Headsets benefits of using their professional headsets

Axtel professional headsets benefits

Axtel has written this great article explaining the benefit of using their professional headset and how it can better your working environment.

Professional headsets are often used by office employees of B2B companies, customer service offices, call centers. Let us consider whether this solution is just the latest craze in office fashion, or does it have its practical, ergonomic justification.

Let us take a look at the functionality of a headset, what solutions have been used in their design and what makes them being used so often among office workers. The main benefit of using a headset is having free hands, allowing you to perform several tasks at the same time. During the conversation you can move freely, use the keyboard, or take notes. For comparison, people using a telephone with a regular telephone receiver, are forced to hold the receiver between the ear and the shoulder while performing other activities. This position very often leads to the severe pain in the neck, the back and the head. Scientists have named this illness the Telephone Neck Syndrome (TNS).

What is more, when using a professional headset in a version for two ears, the user is isolated from the environment, so they can better focus on the phone call. In addition, the headphones are equipped with noise cancelling (NC) function, which removes background noise and improves the audibility of the caller.

Another advantage of using a professional headset is the ease of fitting it to the dimensions and shapes of a head. Adjusting the length of the headband and bending it allows a good regulation of pressure on the ears, which increases the comfort of work.

An important aspect of using this type of headphones is also the safety of use. To meet the threat of hearing loss, manufacturers of professional headsets have used the Acoustic Protection technology, which eliminates high and harmful to human hearing sounds – a feature rarely found in low-quality unprofessional headsets.

It is worth mentioning that the better and better headset manufacturing technologies makes it difficult to damage them. The high production quality and carefully selected materials are perfect for long-term use, significantly reducing the number of repairs.

From the employer’s point of view, the aspect of employee’s effectiveness is no less important. Depending on the type of work, the time spent on phone calls varies from half an hour to 3-4 hours a day, and even much longer among call centre employees. Scientists have proved that using headsets allows you to increase the number of connections and work efficiency, and thus reduce the labour costs associated with employee’s down time and discomfort. The research results show that employees using a headset have shown an actual increase in productivity, up to 43%.

The freedom during use and numerous health benefits make headsets an increasingly indispensable and standard work tool, both in contact centres and in the business environment. for more information go to –Axtel headset website

Yealink CP960 product review by the Even Flow VoIP Master

Yealink Conference Phone product review

Author: VoIP_Master

Evolution, a technological milestone was hit with the invention of android, without a doubt the platform has grown in strength and the market has embraced it with open arms. We have seen the traditional communication platforms evolve, cell-phones having the same functionality as computers, communications platform scrambling to integrate and some falling short, while other just completely fail, until now!

Evolution, the word and the ethos of the Yealink brand are synonymous, in keeping with this culture, they have given us the high performing android 5.1 based CP960. Yealink’s New Conference phone has a Five (5) inch 720 *1280 touchscreen, HD audio, Yealink proprietary noise proof technology , 3 built in 6 meters 360 voice pickup mics, just some of the features that this bad boy comes packed with .

For the love of tech, Opus codec pack pre-packaged, echo cancellation up to 320ms, 5-way conference calling with Bluetooth 4.0 pairing and USB micro B port, which allows contacts sharing. The Conference phone Unit is WIFI capable, yes I said it, WIFI capable, 3.5 audio out port with 2 standard USB 2.0 slots not forgetting the POE capability which reduces cable clatter. As an android one expects Play store to be on the unit but Yealink has taken it a step further, they have given the control back to the administrator on this unit allowing only administrator to install apps via specialized scripting… go figure Yealink … go figure

More of a personal note, the Conference phone unit has not given me any reason not to recommend it to those that want to future proof their offerings, slide action on the screen make it a pleasure to use, ability to accommodate the apps from an administrative perspective allows absolute control of the unit, great flexibility in terms of functionality (apps driven the world is open up to you), wireless mic pods as an extra,  operating on the DECT protocol pods giving you an extra 50 m indoor, I mean really it’s some of the reason why we at Even Flow are standing behind this unit.

Yealink has truly out done themselves on this one, can’t wait to see what’s next from the Yealink brand… one thing left to say just keep evolving with Even Flow and Yealink.
