VegaStream VoIP Gateways Training  26th February 2008

The course commences with an introduction to VegaStream, the Vega VoIP Gateway range of products and to VoIP fundamentals. Also included is a section dedicated to case studies and applications demonstrating how Vega gateways may be deployed.

Delegates are introduced to a “Pre-Sales Data Collection” document, comprehensive completion of which prior to any installation forms the basis of the session. Once completed the trainee is guided through the process of configuring the Gateway using the information collected in the “Pre-Sales Data Collection” document, culminating in a practical exercise. Both web browser and command line interface configuration is addressed. The course concludes with delegates configuring Vega dial plans to route calls from handsets on a PBX connected to a Vega400, to handsets connected to Vega FXS gateways and to IP handsets on the LAN. This is followed up by configuring simple routing via a Proxy Server. By the end of the course, students will be able to configure the complete portfolio of VegaStream gateways and make end-to-end VoIP calls. The course includes a significant proportion of hands-on learning so that by the end of the day attendees should feel confident with installing, configuring and using all Vega gateways.

It should be noted that this course is centred around VegaStream’s new Quick Config web provisioning tool which is designed to simplify the configuration of Vega gateways for 90% of installations. Delegates will be provided with printed and electronic information notes as necessary.
