Mimosa globally Introduces their new Mimosa C5x Modular Radio

SANTA CLARA, CA — Mimosa Networks today announced the Mimosa C5x, the industry’s most versatile, integrated 5 GHz radio with four modular, twist-on antenna options. With best-in-class Front-to-Back (FTB) and Front-to-Side (FTS) ratios for superior noise immunity, and extended frequency operation from 4.9-6.4 GHz, the ultra-rugged C5x is disrupting the industry and sets new price/performance benchmarks for integrated wireless connectivity.

Cost Effective Solution Scales with your Network

The modular design of the C5x is a perfect fit for network operators, offering the ease and simplicity of an integrated radio coupled with antenna gain flexibility for streamlined installation and reduced inventory costs. The C5x is optimized for short- to mid-range links with a native 8 dBi gain that can be increased to 12, 16, 20 or 25 dBi using a set of modular twist-on antennas. With a disruptive price point, the C5x is designed for cost-effective point-to-multipoint (PTMP) deployments delivering up to 100BaseT of IP throughput out-of-the-box, and up to 500 Mbps when paired with a “C5x-PTMP” feature key upgrade (sold separately). A separate point-to-point (PTP) “C5x-PTP” feature key will upgrade the C5x to deliver up to 700 Mbps throughput for a PTP link.

Incredible RF Performance

Fabricated in rugged die-cast metal to excel in the harshest environments, the custom-engineered N5-X Cassegrain or horn antennas are optimized for gain across a broad spectrum range. Best-in-class noise isolation provides immunity from interference with breakthrough FTB and FTS performance, delivering 10bB improvement in the Signal-to-Interference-Plus-Noise Ratio (SINR). This feature translates into a 10X performance increase against competitive integrated radios.

Extended Frequency Operation

Based on Mimosa’s field-proven C5c software, the Mimosa C5x, like all Mimosa products, is engineered with extended frequency support and takes advantage of both 4.9 GHz public safety applications in the United States and unlicensed frequencies up to 6.4 GHz worldwide (where allowed by local regulations). In addition, the accompanying N5-X modular antennas are specifically optimized for C5x extended frequency support.

Packs a Powerful Punch in a Small Form Factor

At just 17.5 centimeters in height and weighing only 370 grams, the C5x delivers with an incredibly sleek form factor, perfect for visually sensitive installations. And with a typical energy consumption of sub-10w, the C5x is ideal for solar-powered, battery back-up installations, where power and reliability are at a premium.

B5-LITE

The Brand New B5-Lite from Mimosa

Mimosa, the new leaders in wireless backhaul in South Africa, has just released their newest product – The B5-Lite. The B5-Lite is the next low-cost, high throughput backhaul radio. It utilizes Mimosa’s TDMA protocol and 802.11ac technology, thereby making this 2×2:2 radio a great option for locations that don’t require collocation.

The B5-Lite is capable of 750+ Mbps throughput, and can serve less bandwidth hungry areas easily. It is a smaller form factor than the B5 Integrated and has 20 dBi antenna – thereby stripping away only a few of the B5 Integrated’s advanced features providing an alternative low-cost solution.

Mimosa Wireless Backhaul Launches in South Africa

Cape Town, 18 June 2015 – Even Flow is proud to be appointed exclusive distributor of Mimosa Gigabit Wireless Products in South Africa, and will be launching Mimosa’s exciting range of high-speed wireless backhaul solutions through partners throughout Southern Africa.

Mimosa, a US company, is a pioneer in Gigabit wireless networks and is launching the next generation of Wi-Fi hardware, designed for outdoor use, at long distances and with robust speeds. Mimosa’s wireless technology picks up where fibre leaves off, connecting homes and many businesses in areas where fibre can’t be reached.

Mimosa employs a comprehensive “Cloud to Client” strategy, using coordinated massive multiple-in multiple-out (MIMO) intelligent spectrum technologies which allow for unique advancements to every layer of the Internet access network.

Mimosa’s backhaul products consist of the B5 and B5c and the soon to be launched B5-Lite. The B5 backhaul series is a radio capable of coordinating massive amounts of MIMO technology. Mimosa also released their Cloud Services technology which features advanced network-wide planning and analytics. The ability of the B5 radio to pair with the Cloud Services is a connectivity breakthrough which allows internet service providers to effortlessly construct and manage high-capacity scalable networks that pick up where fibre leaves off. This cloud-to-client technology brings disruptive technology advancements delivering speed and reliability.

The B5 radio is the first product in the world to offer Spectrum Multiplication, leveraging coordinated Massive MIMO technology, which allows colocated radios to deliver 16 MIMO streams, and 4 Gbps of throughput.

The B5 Backhaul radio series consists of two versions the B5 – an antenna-integrated 5 GHz backhaul radio, and the B5c – a connectorized radio-only version. The B5 leverages an 802.11ac, 4×4:4 MIMO and radical engineering for service providers that demand the same capacity, speed and reliability as fibre.  Capable of 1 Gbps throughput, a low 2 ms latency and has an integrated dual-polarized antenna with 25 dBi of gain. It is the first 4 MIMO stream radio with, colocatable radio with advanced spectrum re-use capabilities. Whilst the B5c is capable of 1 Gbps throughput and a low 2 ms latency, can be paired with any dual-polarized antenna and is operational from 4900-6000MHz. Capable of 1 Gbps throughput, a low 2 ms latency and has an integrated dual-polarized antenna with 25 dBi of gain.

With a single B5 radio link, users can provide a gigabit of throughput for up to thirteen to fourteen kilometres. The more the distances increases the lower the bandwidth becomes however Mimosa has successfully run one link up to ninety-six kilometres and still manages to provide several hundred megabits of throughput along the California coast. Therefore displaying the products efficacy.

Features of the Mimosa B5 include, but are not limited to, Advanced Colocation (maximizing satellite synchronisation through precision timing and sophisticated RF isolation techniques), full automation (offering real-time spectrum analysis without service interruption), and Dual Link (load balance between two non-contiguous channels, providing unprecedented resiliency against interference).

Even Flow Distribution will be stocking the entire range of Mimosa products and taking them to market through established resellers, Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISP’s) and Telco’s. To find out more about the Mimosa range of products please contact Even Flow Distribution
